Today’s ship photo has pretty much virally blown up since we posted it to the gCaptain Facebook page yesterday. Since then, the photo has had 400 “likes”, 115 “shares” and about 35 comments. Needless to say, we thought it would be good to post a follow up here on the site for those of you who don’t follow gCaptain on Facebook.
The ship is the USS Harry S. Truman, the eighth Nimitz-class aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy fleet, doing a high-speed training maneuver called a “swing check”, which is basically a counter steer to stop the movement, or swing, of the ship’s bow.

What's "Tokyo Drift?"
Thus says Wiki (didn't know, either, but like the pic): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fast_and_the_Furious:_Tokyo_Drift

It's the title of one of the Fast and the Furious series, I think the third one! The title refers to the movie's motto
When a ship turns does the bow swing or the stern and when you check the swing are you checking the movement of the bow or the stern?
