 Hawaii Superferry A look back

No matter what side of the debate you are on over the Hawaii Superferry, you have to admit that it has been interesting to watch as its legal and environmental battles have been shared over headline news.  In March of this year, the Ferry was forced to suspend service while awaiting completion of the environmental study.  Most recently Hawaii Superferry, Inc., which filed bankruptcy on May 30, has asked to abandon its two high-speed catamarans to creditors because of the high cost of maintainence, a move that is being urged as “premature”.

Now here is a look back at gCaptain’s coverage of the Hawaii Superferry’s 2 year run in transporting passengers and vehicles between Oʻahu and Maui and the controversy that followed.
