That is a rather broad question but the basics are:
*Building a Team that works well together takes time and is critically important
*The time to learn is now, when the bells start ringing it's too late
*With frequent changes of crew and long periods off it's important that everyone is refreshed on training
*If it's not done regularly then it's difficult to build on the lessons of previous drills
*To many more to list ;)

Just got my last fire drill out of the way for this hitch! YA!!!!!!!!!

Good article! I'm guilty of being a "great job guy" when I'm debriefing the crew, even when the performance was less than spectacular!

Something I need to work on, I can't be everyone's friend when lives are at stake!

You know I was making waffles yesterday and they tasted kinda funny so my wife opens up the cupboard, finds the "Make It Yourself" play-Doh flour misaligned and quickly deduces the source of the taste. They may all look alike (flours and fires) to the untrained eye but don't assume they're all the same!

Dper,
No offense to John, but I think I was briefing fire drills when he was realizing that the different colors of Pla-Doh didn't mean different flavors.
