The uploader has a valid point about coastal erosion, but the video provides a pretty cool visualization of a ship’s displacement i.e. the weight of a the volume of water displaced by a ship.
According to the uploader the video was filmed in the St. Clair River and showed a 1000′ laker running at twice the allowed speed early in the Great Lakes shipping season.
