This collision would have been considered relatively minor had it not been for that protruding lifeboat. Details of the collision are scarce, but it presumably took place somewhere in France in 2013 between the French ferry ‘Le Girolata’ and a second unidentified ship. Update: Collision was between Napoléon Bonaparte and Girolata in Marseille 2011, according to one facebook commenter.

As you can see, one of the second ship’s lifeboats is absolutely crushed in the collision, but luckily the incident was minor enough that it wasn’t needed in the first place.

So hey, at least it softened the blow…
