Since Sunday, Statoil’s Troll C floating process and accommodation platform has been shut down after an inspection revealed corrosion damage to a pipe connected to the oil export system.

Statoil expects the platform will lose 7 days of production while the corroded pipe is replaced. The company notes that this steel-hulled platform has a daily equity production of some 58,000 barrels of oil, and exports 8 million cubic meters of gas. In addition some 34,000 barrels of oil and 2 million cubic metres of gas are transported from the Fram field through the Troll C platform.
