Port of Southampton to Lose Call by Maersk/MSC Asia-Europe Service

By Gavin van Marle (The Loadstar) - The 2M alliance of Maersk and MSC is to leave the UK port of Southampton. It has announced it will drop the call at the country’s second largest container gateway by the Asia-Europe AE1/Shogun service the carriers jointly operate. Two crew are lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping a capsized tug just before it sank Monday night in strong winds and poor visibility near Southampton, England.
