The United Nations envoy for Somalia has welcomed the release the eleven remaining of crewmembers of a ship hijacked by Somali pirates nearly four years ago, and has called for the release of all remaining captives still being held by Somali pirates.

Eleven crew members held hostage by Somali pirates for more than three years have been released, regional and United Nations officials said on Saturday.

The last remaining Somali pirate-held vessel was on the move this weekend and is now anchored just off the Somali coast, according to the European Union Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) Somalia.

Two lifeboats from the pirated MV Albedo have been found washed up on a Somali beach just north of where the ship sank, but there are still no signs of the 15 missing crew members, the European Union Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) reported Wednesday.
