Christoffer Marstone, 1st Officer on board the Well Stimulation Vessel “Island Commander” sends us this image taken yesterday at the Ekofisk Oil Field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.  The supply boat on the right is the Volstad Princess.

Although this is in the Norwegian Sector, Ekofisk is literally smack dab in the middle of the North Sea, 200 miles southwest of Stavanger.  This field is the biggest producing field in Norway and is operated by ConocoPhillips.  First production was in 1971 and the field is expected to produce until 2050.
