The survey vessel MV Geo Coral is one of four C-class seismic survey vessels in CGG Veritas’ global fleet and was contracted by BG Group to acquire seismic data offshore Tanzania in 2012 and 2013. She is currently working offshore Angola.
Capable of towing sixteen 8.5 km-long streamers in a spread 1km wide, it creates a huge footprint in the ocean and requires a significant amount of power to overcome the drag of the array.
With 23 vessels, CGG Veritas has the world’s largest fleet of seismic survey vessels including the Oceanic Vega, capable of towing 20 streamers and pulling 140 tons continuously at 5 knots.
