Stricken Oil Tanker Towed To Safety Off German Island Of Ruegen

A fire aboard the Volcan de Taburiente, a RoPax ferry owned by Spanish operator, Naviera Armas forced the vessel to return to port on Friday according.
The fire appears to have originated from a truck in the ship’s hold, shown in the image below:

According to the Associated Press, the ferry was heading to the island of La Gomera with 334 people on board, but returned to Los Cristianos port after the incident.

Spanish maritime rescue services were deployed to escort the ferry back to port. There were no injuries reported.
