Iranian Ship Linked to Houthi Attacks Heads Home Amid Tensions

In support of operations at the Hibernia and Hebron fields offshore eastern Canada, Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd (HMDC) and ExxonMobil Canada has signed a 5+15 year charter with Canadian OSV operator, Secunda Canada today.
Secunda is 50 percent owned by Siem Offshore and with the signing of the charter agreement, Secunda and Siem Offshore will be building a new Rolls-Royce UT 782WP design anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) offshore support vessel at Remontowa shipyard in Poland. The vessel is due for delivery at the end of 2015.
Idar Hillersoy, CEO of Secunda commented, “This contract is an important next step in Secunda’s plans for fleet renewal and growth in the Canadian market”.
Secunda notes the ship will be designed to harsh environment conditions and will feature a Rolls-Royce integrated power and propulsion system. The overall length of the vessel will be 87.3 meters with a beam of 20 meters and a dead weight of approximately 4000 tons.
