One of the world’s biggest cruise ships is headed to the Big Apple.
Royal Caribbean announced Wednesday that its 225,282 GRT Oasis of the Seas will be calling Bayonne, New Jersey home during the 2020-2021 cruise season where it will embark on 7-night cruises from Cape Liberty to the Caribbean beginning in May 2020.
Prior to its arrival, the ship will undergo a bow-to-stern transformation as part of Royal Caribbean’s $1 billion Royal Amplified modernization program launched in 2018.
In addition to cruises to the Carribean, Oasis of the Sea will also embark on a select number of short cruises north to New England and Canada.
Oasis will be the first ship in her class and the largest to sail from the Northeast.
In addition, for the first time since 2015, Anthem of the Seas will return to the U.K. to sail alongside Independence of the Seas, marking the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s biggest presence in the region to-date.
