Former CEO of Eitzen Chemical Takes Over at Nordic Tankers

7 months after taking over as CEO of Nordic Tankers, Claus Thornberg is out the door.

Effective today, Per Sylvester Jensen has assumed the role as Nordic Tankers’ President & CEO.

At 57, Jensen, began his career in shipping in 1980 and most recently held the role as CEO of Eitzen Chemical.  He brings extensive commercial and operational experience from previous senior executive roles within Eitzen, Clarkson Shipping Services and Odfjell.

Nordic’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Terje Askvig commented on today’s appointment:

“Per Sylvester Jensen is a highly-regarded senior executive with an excellent track record and a unique background from the chemical tanker industry. We are excited to have him on board to execute on Nordic Tankers’ growth strategy. On behalf of the Board of Directors and myself, I would like to thank Claus Thornberg for his dedication and contribution to the company in the recent four years.”

Claus Thornberg had been with Nordic Tankers since 2010 and had previously held roles as COO and head of Fleet Management – Nordic’s technical organization.
