The Viking Line ferry MS Amorella arrived at the Port of Langnas today after it was refloated from Jarso in the Aland Islands, Finland.
Photos show the Amorella arriving in port under tow by tugs.
Viking Line said in an earlier statement that the Amorella would be pulled from the ground some time after 16.00 Finnish time today and then transported to the port of Langnas for unloading freight and passenger cars.
From there, the Amorella will continue to the repair yard in Naantali, Finland, and the exact timetable has not yet been determined, the company said. No word yet on the extent of damage to the ship.
The MS Amorella was sailing on its regular route connecting Turku, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden when it made contact with the seabed and grounded along the shore of Jarso at 1250 local time on Sunday. After the grounding all 200 passengers were evacuated to land with no injuries.
The cause of the grounding is still under investigation.
