On Sunday 11 January, the containership MOL Express ran aground in Tateyama Harbor, Chiba Prefecture of Japan as it was maneuvering in the harbor.  The vessel was on charter to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines from an affiliate of Vancouver-based shipowner Seaspan Corp.

Seaspan announced today that the vessel has been successfully re-floated as of 10:55 a.m, 14 January 2015.

“There were no crew injuries and no environmental consequences from this incident,” Seaspan notes in a statement.
