Green Yard Kleven has inked a shipbuilding contract with Romanian energy giant OMV Petrom S.A. for a new “Field Support Vessel” destined for the Neptun Deep project.
This contract marks a significant milestone for Green Yard, which acquired the struggling Kleven Verft shipyard in Ulsteinvik, Norway in 2020 after its bankruptcy filing. Since then, the company has worked to establish itself in the new construction market.
“It is a day of joy at Green Yard Kleven,” said Hans Jørgen Fedog, CEO of Green Yard Kleven. “We are very pleased that OMV Petrom chose us for this contract. It has been an incredibly rewarding collaboration throughout and with great trust between the parties.”

The vessel, scheduled for delivery in the latter half of 2026, will play a crucial role in supporting an unmanned gas platform in the Black Sea.
The Neptun Deep project, the largest natural gas venture in the Romanian Black Sea, is Romania’s first deepwater offshore project, promising to bolster the nation’s energy security.
The 89.5-meter-long multihull vessel will be equipped with state-of-the-art features, including a Walk to Work (W2W) walkway, offshore crane, and accommodations for 90 people in single cabins. Designed by Norwegian firm Marin Teknikk, the ship bears the designation MT-6067 FSV and will involve collaboration with several local subcontractors.
“We want to collaborate with local partners as far as possible, and we believe that we will achieve several good local collaborations in this project,” added Rune Gamlem, Sales Manager at Green Yard Kleven.
