JMU to Build Eight 14,000 TEU Containerships for NYK

Japan Marine United has won an order from NYK Line today to build eight 14,000 TEU boxships at their Kure Shipyard.  According NYK, the ships are to be delivered between February 2016 and January 2018.

Time charters have been signed for these vessels and they will be used to replace existing ships as well as four, 13,000 TEU ships currently on charter from OOCL.
