Island Offshore has announced it has won two 5-year contracts for its Island Chieftain and Island Challenger vessels.

In a statement, Island Offshore says that the UT 776 design Island Chieftain has been awarded a 5 year contract with BP Norge AS (BPN). The MV Island Chieftain has been a part of BPN’s pool since February 2010, and the new contract will be in direct continuation of the current contract. The new contract is expected to commence in Q3 2013.

In a separate statement, Island Offshore has also said that its Island Challenger has won a 5-year firm charter by Talisman Energy Norge AS. IO says that the contract will commence in November 2013 following the completion of her present charter contract with Statoil in September 2013, where she has been a part of Statoil’s PSV pool since she delivered from the yard in 2007.

This will be the first term contract between Island Offshore and Talisman, and look forward the cooperation with Talisman.
