The below video was released as part of the Accident Investigation Board of Norway’s part one report on its investigation on 8 November 2018 collision between the Norwegian frigate Helge Ingstad and oil tanker Sola TS outside the Sture Terminal in Norway’s Hjeltefjord fjord near Bergen.
The part one report contains the results of the AIBN’s investigation of the sequence of events leading up to collision, which has shown shown that the collision was the result of a number of operational, technical, organizational and systemic factors including, among other things, the inexperience of the frigate’s bridge team.
