Floatel International announced today the signing of their fifth semi-submersible accommodation newbuild contract with Keppel FELSs. The order adds USD $280 million to Keppel’s backlog and the vessel is scheduled to be delivered in December 2015.
Previous orders include the Floatel Superior and Floatel Reliance which were delivered in 2010. Currently under construction are the Floatel Victory and Floatel Endurance which are due for delivery in November 2013 and January 2015, respectively.
This new DP-3 equipped semi will be a sister vessel to Floatel Victory and will be built to Keppel’s proprietary SSAUTM5000NG design.
It will have the capacity to accommodate 500 persons in single and double bed cabins, including recreation areas as well as office facilities.
