Fairmount Marine, the Netherlands-based ocean-going tug operator, announced this week that their 205 ton bollard pull tug, Fairmount Expedition completed the 575 mile crossing of the South China sea with the jackup rig Naga 3 under tow.

The rig was being delivered from Labuan, Malaysia, to the PV Marine Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam.

The Naga 3 is a Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D design jackup, built in 2010 by Drydocks World and owned by UMW Petropipe/Singapore Drilling.  The rig will be working offshore Vietnam for the Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company.
