Disney cruise Line has announced plans to build three LNG-powered cruise ships at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.
A memorandum of agreement for the vessels has been signed between the two parties.
At approximately 144,000 gross tons and 1,250 guest staterooms, the ships will be slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy and powered by liquefied natural gas.
Disney recently unveiled the name of its fifth ship, Disney Wish, which is scheduled for delivery from Meyer Werft in late 2021. Meyer Werft is also constructing two other ships for Disney Cruise Line with delivery planned in 2022 and 2023.
No delivery date was provided for the three ships announced today.
