Container Spot Rates Edge Higher as Peak Season Faces Mid-July Test
Container freight spot rates on the transpacific and Asia-Europe trades showed moderate gains this week, in the absence of carrier-led price hikes, while demand remained firm.
CSCL announced today the sale of two containerships to CIC Digang for their eventual scrapping.
The two vessels are the Xiang Hu and the Xiang Kai, both built in 1985 with capacities of 996 and 1020 TEUs respectively.
The vessels were sold for a total consideration of RMB 33,858,897 (USD $5.5 million) and will be delivered to CIC Digang no later than 30 September.
