While drilling in the southern sector of the Norwegian North Sea in 66 meters of water, Centrica Resources Norge AS has had negative results on two wells recently drilled by the Maersk Giant jack-up.

These wells represent the fourth and fifth wells drilled at production license 405; only one of which was found to have oil.  In 2011, while contracting the Maersk Guardian jack-up, Centrica discovered a 56 meter layer of oil at 8/10-4 S that they considered commercially viable, although no drill string test was conducted.

The wells will be plugged and abandoned and the Maersk Giant will then head to a location south of the 2011 discovery to drill another wildcat well to see what they can find.
