Malaysian FPSO and OSV conglomerate Bumi Armada says their CEO Mr Hassan Basma has requested an early release of his contract of employment according to a statement today by the company, citing family reasons.
The Board of Directors has agreed to Mr Basma’s request and accordingly, Mr Basma will relinquish his positions as CEO and Executive Director of the Company, with effect from 1 January 2015.
Basma, a Dutch citizen, has been CEO since September 2005.
Pending the appointment of a new CEO, Bumi Armada’s board has chosen Mr Chan Chee Beng, a member of the Board since 2003, to be re-designated as Executive Director and Acting CEO, with effect from 1 January 2015 while the search for a new CEO begins.
