Dozens of passengers and crew found themselves leaping from a heavily rolling ferry which became stuff against a pier at an island off Sicily on Thursday.
According to reports the local Libertylines hydrofoil ferry Masaccio became stuck after hitting a concrete pier during its approach at the port of Stromboli.
Video posted online shows people jumping from the vessel into inflatable rafts as the ferry gets tossed around in the waves as a large crowd gathers to watch and others assist in the rescue.
All 49 people passengers and crew are believed to have made it off the vessel without any serious injuries reported.
