The two crewmembers of the bulk carrier Shanghai Spirit were seriously injured in a scaffolding accident at Port Alma in Queensland, Australia on Sunday.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of January 29 as the two crewmembers were carrying out routine maintenance from scaffolding in one of the ship’s cargo holds when it toppled over. The two men suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital in Rockhampton.
The Australia Transportation Safety Bureau says it is launched investigation the accident.
The 18,800 dwt M/V Shanghai Spirit is flagged in Hong Kong. The ship had arrived from Subic Bay, Philippines when the accident occurred.
