MOSCOW, Feb 15 (Reuters) – Russian law enforcement officials said on Sunday they had begun an investigation into a collision involving a tanker at the Ust-Luga seaport, a major outlet for Russia’s crude oil and fuel exports via the Baltic Sea.
The Northwestern Transport Prosecutor said the incident took place on Saturday when the tanker Tony, which was arriving to load petroleum products, collided with a berth wall at the port in the country’s northwestern Leningrad region.
“The incident damaged the berth wall and the port crane. There were no injuries, and no petroleum spill occurred,” the prosecutor said in a statement posted on Telegram.

A U.S. warship and a Navy supply vessel collided during refueling Wednesday afternoon, the U.S. Southern Command told Reuters in an emailed statement on Thursday.
Only one tank filled with jet fuel was damaged after the U.S. military-contracted tanker that was transporting a shipment was struck by a cargo ship off England's northeast coast, U.S. logistics firm Crowley said.
The captain of a ship that hit a U.S. tanker off northeast England is a Russian national, the company which owns the vessel said, as police continued their inquiries into the accident and fears over the environmental impact of the crash eased.
