Rolls-Royce said today it has received orders for two of its popular UT 755 series offshore supply vessels. The vessels were ordered by Gulf Offshore North Sea in a contract worth over $15,000,000 million.
The two UT755 XL designs will be built at the Rosetti Marino SpA shipyard in Ravenna, Italy, and are expected for delivery in 2013 and 2014. Rolls-Royce said it will also provide propulsion systems for each vessel including propellers and thrusters, along with deck machinery, bulk handling equipment and a ship automation package.
Gulf Offshore North Sea already operates eight Rolls-Royce designed UT 755s, all built at Rosetti Marino SpA. Rolls-Royce series is considered the world’s most popular platform supply vessel known for good seakeeping qualities, low noise and vibration levels, and low fuel consumption. Rolls-Royce adds that approximately 170 of the designs are already in service or on order.
The contract with Gulf Offshore North Sea also includes an option to build an additional vessel.
