The world’s largest container shipping company has named Pierre Danet, current Vice President and regional CFO of Hewlett Packard Printing and Personal Systems, as its new Chief Financial Officer effective April 7, 2015.
Maersk Line says that Danet will take over the CFO role from current Chief Strategy, Finance and Transformation Officer, Jakob Stausholm. Stausholm will continue with the company in the role of Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, adding further focues and leadership to the ongoing tranformation and business development of Maersk Line.
Pierre Danet, 44, from France, holds a MBA from ESSEC business school in France. Danet has been with HP since August 2011. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with Procter & Gamble beginning in 1998.
In addition to the CFO role, Danet will be part of Maersk Lines management board.
Maersk Line is the world’s largest container shipping company with 610 container ships in operation. The company employs 7,100 seafarers and 25,500 shore-based employees. The company reported $2.3 billion profit on $27 billion in revenues in 2014.
