Press Release – Tokyo – Leading Classification Society ClassNK conducted the third-party verification with a reasonable level of assurance for a GHG assertion of IINO KAIUN KAISHA LTD.(“IINO LINES”) and group companies, and issued a verification statement.
As actions against climate change has increased the importance as criteria for corporate evaluation, not a few companies are encouraged to disclose their initiatives in line with ISO14064 standards for quantifying, monitoring, reporting and validating or verifying GHG inventories.
IINO LINES has prepared the GHG assertion, from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019, quantifying the emissions from its operating fleet and offices based on ISO14064-1(*1), and ClassNK has conducted the verification according to ISO 14064-3(*2).
ISO 14064-3 provides two levels of assurance, and the “reasonable assurance” applied in the verification means the society expresses the GHG assertion is materially correct and is a fair representation of the GHG data and information followed by detailed and comprehensive assessment.
ClassNK continues utilizing its expertise rooted in the maritime industry and supporting the reduction of GHG emission through its independent and reliable third-party verification service.
