On Saturday October 19th, the fourth Maersk Triple-E Class vessel MV Mary Maersk arrived at the Deurganckdock in the Port of Antwerp in Belgium. Above is a video showing her arrival and providing some good information about the port and its ability to receive such large ships.
At 400 meters in length and with a capacity for 18,000 TEUs, the Maersk Triple-E’s are the largest containerships in the world. To date Maersk Line has ordered a total of twenty of the giant ships from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Okpo, South Korea, four of which have already entered service.
