In the following video, the 160.9 m Skandi Africa, owned by DOF and on contract to Technip, is seen departing the shipyard for the first time at VARD Søviknes.
The Skandi Africa is currently being outfitted at Huisman’s Schiedam facility in The Netherlands with a 650 metric ton Pipelay Tower (the yellow one in the picture below), a 150mt knuckleboom Crane and a 900mt Pedestal Mounted Crane.
She is powered by four Rolls-Royce B32:40L8ADC and two B32:40L9ADC main engines, three main thrusters aft, two tunnel thrusters forward and two retractable thrusters. The vessel also has two ROV moonpools and a main working moonpool.
