Now I don’t know why this video took so long to pop up on the internet, but it offers a good insiders perspective on the USS Iowa’s final tow from Richmond, CA to the Port of Los Angeles where the historic battleship is now forever docked as a floating naval warfare museum.

In May, the USS Iowa’s final tow was big news here on the West Coast and was perhaps even bigger because a weather delay postponed her trip to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge celebration.  We even covered the event rather extensively here on the blog, so finally seeing this video pop up was a welcomed sight indeed.

The retired battleship USS Iowa opened to the public as a floating museum at the Port of L.A. in San Pedro on Saturday, July 7th.  Interesting now to see how she got there.
