I obtained my Master Foreign Certificate of Competency (Class 1) in New Zealand 20 years ago and was issued a License about the size of a passport. Convenience and size standardization perhaps ? Any suggestions?

Does anyone know, will CG approved classes issue certs that fit inside the passport size book (like Canada does) so we don't have to carry a whole binder of 8x11's around anymore?

Passport style of Merchant Marine Documents have been used in the UK for years. Looks just like a passport with the Queens Shield on it. Rather impressive. However, it took me a long time to get that paper license with Master Unlimited on it and for the USCG to charge extra for it seems ludicrous since they are bleeding us dry with fees for anything and everything.
