That was a different drunk oil company employee,so everyone of those locals who lost their livelihood can suck it up? Never happen again?I've seen some of the fall-out on that one and it ruined a whole lot of fishermen lives.

So they have enough equipment in the area to handle a BPGulf of Mexico type blow-out? No they don't. How about "Captains are to operate the vessel safely and according to established Coast Guard safety regulations. This includes conducting proper wheel watches in accordance with USCG and international navigation rules." How many alarms went off and how quick did they react?Oh? Did the wind affect the ship at anchor?Did anyone lose rank,job or was it something to be laughed off because everyone was getting drunk in Dutch? And we have better manners when we go to sea?

Shell is currently drilling in the Arctic, not Exxon. That and the anchors used during drilling (http://www.vryhof.com/products/anchors/stevpris_mk5.html ) are totally different from those used by a ship in the harbor. These are usually set out in a pattern of eight anchors to ensure redundancy and to reduce the watch circle to allow for drilling.

Sometimes in the breakneck rape of the planet they do have to stop and let technology catch up.And a spill in the Arctic would redefine impossible. It's not like they would share the obscene profits.And they never did a full pay out on The Exxon-Valdez.

If they drag anchor in Dutch Harbor, who know what they would do in the Arctic Seas? Oh , that was just somebody who didn't drop a second hook? How many somebodies will you have on the rigs?
