John Konrad, Founder

Captain John Konrad is co-founder and CEO of Unofficial Networks and Editor In Chief of gCaptain.com. He is a USCG licensed Master Mariner of Unlimited Tonnage and, since graduating from SUNY Maritime College, he has sailed a variety of ships from ports around the world.


John currently lives in Morro Bay, California with his wife and two kids, Jack and Ellie.

Robert Almeida, Chief Marketing Officer

Rob Almeida is partner and CMO of Unofficial Networks and an editor of gCaptain.com. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1999 with a B.S in Naval Architecture and is an accomplished sailor and photographer. He also has quite a knack for squeegee-ing mud off the rig floor, pressure washing the pump room, and giving speeches at pre-tour meetings just for the heck of it.


Rob currently lives in Houston, Texas.

Timothy Konrad, Founder - Editor

During the winter months, Tim is Editor In Chief and CCO of UnofficialSquaw.com, a site for Tahoe skiers and snowboarders. In the summer months, Tim spends his time in Argentina where he skis the Andes Mountains and runs the ski and travel blog UnofficialAndes.com. Tim averages over 200 days per year on the slopes and boasts eight back-to-back ski seasons.

Mike Schuler - Director Of Operations

After graduating from The Catholic University of America in 2005 with a B.S.B.A. in Finance, Mike went on to Tahoe to help with the launch of gCaptain's sister site, UnofficialSquaw.com. In June of 2008 Mike joined Unofficial Networks, LLC as the first full-time employee in charge of sales and marketing and the day-to-day operations of gCaptain.com and Unofficial Networks, LLC.
