Following the award of a 5-year charter contract from Statoil this past March, Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine has awarded the newbuild contract for a 65-meter Tanker Assist Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel (TAERRV) to COSCO Guangdong shipyard.

COSCO says the vessel’s expected delivery date is in the first quarter of 2017.

Sentinel Marine has an option to order an additional TAERRV within six months. The order price was not disclosed.
