Over the weekend, Kleven Maritime signed a 400 million NOK (USD $65M) contract with RemÃ¸y Shipping for a new WÃ¤rtsila-designed, LNG powered platform supply vessel to be built at Kleven Verft Shipyard.

“Competition has been really hard this time, and we chose Kleven Maritime because of their long experience and competence when it comes to building LNG powered vessels. That, combined with the good quality they deliver and competitive terms, was decisive,” said Per Gunnar Jarnes, Managing Director of RemÃ¸y Shipping.
Statoil recently awarded contracts for seven PSV newbuilds to be used on the Norwegian continental shelf, three of which will be built by Kleven Maritime. Atlantic Offshore announced on July 3rd that they had chosen Kleven Maritime’s Myklebust Verft yard to build two vessels for which they have signed a six year contract with Statoil. The contract with Kleven Maritime also includes an option for an additional vessel of the same type.
Kleven Maritime now has 14 vessels in the order book, at a total value of 6.7 billion NOK.
