The Robert Allan-designed ART 100-37, a slightly shorter version than what was ordered by KT Maritime

Singapore-based ASL Shipyard Pte announced today the receipt of new shipbuilding contracts worth approximately S$91 million for the construction of three ART 100-42 class Rotor® Tugs and one Seismic Support Vessel (SSV).

The company notes the orders were received from undisclosed customers in Australia and Norway, respectively.

Although not specifically mentioned in the release, the three tugs were very likely ordered by Perth-based KT Maritime Services Australia, a joint venture partnership with KOTUG International B.V and Teekay Shipping Australia.

In February 2014, Shell Australia contracted KT Maritime Services to provide three 42 meter-long, 100-tonne bollard-pull tugs to assist in product offloading at the Prelude FLNG facility.

The tugs will operate out of the Port of Broome on a rotation.

KT Maritime Services was unable to be reached after hours to confirm the order however.

ASL Shipbuilding notes deliveries are planned for the first quarter of 2016.
