Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam, part of Damen Shipyards Group, has been contracted today by Dutch shipowner, Rederij Groen (NL) to build a pair of 35-meter seismic research support vessels (SRSVs) plus an option for a third. Deliveries for the first two vessels are planned for the third quarter of 2014, and the optional third vessel delivery will be in 2015.
This order follows the delivery of two seismic chasers, the ‘Aquarius-G’ and the ‘Astra-G’, for Groen this past June.
