CMA CGM is pleased to announce it will enter into partnership with OOCL on its ANZEX service deployed on the New Zealand to Far East Trade as from the end of December 2011.
By joining forces on this trade, the two partners will enhance the quality and reliability of the fixed-day weekly ANZEX service provided to all of their customers.
ANZEX is the only service in the trade to offer direct calls in 4 New Zealand Ports with 2 South Island ports, optimizing opportunities for New Zealand Exporters whilst minimizing their land based costs.
ANZEX will discontinue calling Port Kelang Northbound hence shortening transit time between New Zealand and China by 7 days. Other Asian destinations will be relayed via the Hong Kong and Chiwan hubs with competitive Transit Times.
On the Southbound loop, the service will make alternative calls in Nouméa (New Caledonia) and Suva (Fiji).
The service will deploy 6 ships of 1,800 TEU (5 for CMA CGM and 1 for OOCL) with the following schedule: Hong Kong – Chiwan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Pusan – Suva (Alternative A) – Noumea (Alternative B) – Auckland – Port Chalmers– Lyttelton – Tauranga – Noumea – Hong Kong.
“This new partnership will allow the Group to offer an improved service to its customers on the South Pacific market, with enhanced transit times for New Zealand Exporters and an extensive coverage of New Zealand ports”, explains Stéphane Courquin, CMA CGM Vice President Africa, Indian Ocean, Oceania Lines.
