I know this ship quite well as I surveyed her many times over the years in the ST Lawrence river. I also know some of the captains who commanded her and they were very professional including the deck officers. What a sad event for those peoples. Hope that they will be able to salvage and save her but from what I see on the video, and based on my experience, chances are that she will be a total lost. Furthermore, with the cargo that she is carrying, once this cargo get wet(if there is any water ingress....well....!!!!)

A dreadful and unfortunate gutwrenching incident to befall a big girl like 'Ocean Breeze'! Hindsighte is 20-20, but I think I would have dropped BOTH anchors with a lot of scope and tried to take the onshore wind and seas directly on the bows. The broadside situation will cause a very difficult recovery. All the best to all involved, glad no-one was hurt. Sincerly, Capt. Douglas Atkins, USCG lic MOO
