MSC Kalina

The mighty MSC Kalina, sister ship to the largest container ship ever built (by TEU) the MSC Daniela.  This image was shot using a method called High Dynamic Range (HDR).  It’s a process by which the photographer shoots the same image in a number of different exposure settings to properly expose all the bright and dark areas of the image, and then splicing the image together using specialized software.   This process has only started to become mainstream in the photography world over the past few years and the software is still evolving to meet the requirements of professional photographers.
