NANAIMO (NEWS1130) is reporting:
B.C. Ferries has confirmed one of its shiny new ships has sustained some damage after a rough landing at Departure Bay in Nanaimo.
Deborah Marshall with B.C. Ferries says the Coastal Renaissance now has what she calls a ‘minor scrape’ along one side.

Mass Evacuation Of European Cruise Ship

The BBC tells us:
Latvian authorities have begun evacuating hundreds of people from a cruise ship stuck on a sandbank.
So far tugs have failed to free the Bahamas-registered Mona Lisa, which ran aground off Latvia on Sunday with nearly 1,000 people on board.
Officials say there is no danger to the passengers, most of whom are German.

Pirates free Spanish boat, crew

CNN.com/world is reporting:
MADRID, Spain (CNN) — The crew of a Spanish fishing boat seized by pirates last week off the coast of Somalia has been freed, officials said Saturday, and the boat was being escorted to the Seychelles Islands.

The Playa de Bakio is headed for the Seychelles under escort, a Spanish official says.
