This position is that of Sports Specialist in the Department of
Physical Education and Athletics, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy,
Kings Point, New York.  The Academy, one of the five Federal
Academies, is a degree granting institution fully accredited by the
Middle States Association of Colleges and Universities.  Upon
graduation the Midshipman (male and female) are awarded Bachelor of
Science degrees, licensed as Merchant Marine Officers by the U.S.
Coast Guard and commissioned as Officers in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

The ideal candidate must be motivated, have integrity, stamina,
and ingenuity, and be capable of adjusting to various work
environments, physical demands, and schedules.  We are also looking
for an individual who possesses college level teaching experience
with a Master's degree or higher in an appropriate discipline and
have experience in being an Assistant Coach Men's and Women's
Swimming and Diving.  

HIGHLY DESIRABLE: College level teaching experience and a
Master's degree or higher (Doctorate) in an appropriate discipline
is
highly desirable.  Also, at least one year of NCAA Division I, II,
or
III or NAIA college level coaching experience as an assistant coach,
men's and women's swimming and diving.

TELEWORK: DOT recognizes the importance and encourages the

improves individual and organizational productivity; helps reduce
