Pacific Purse Seiner Captain

Wanted US captain, Master 1600GT – Oceans, for Purse Seine Fishing vessel working in the western equatorial Pacific Ocean area. No previous fishing experience required as a fishing master is responsible for all aspects of fishing. This is your chance to participate in an adventure that few shipping companies can offer an applicant. You will have the opportunity to work with a very experience multi-national crew made of primarily of Korean, Indonesian, and Pilipino nationals and the chance to visit such exotic ports as Pohnpei and Kosrae in FSM, Tarawa in Kiribati Islands, Rabaul in Papau, New Guinea and many other ports. Michener’s Hawaii still exist, but in other areas of the Pacific Ocean. If you are interested we anticipate an employment start date of around JUNE 20, 2009. The following are the minimum requirements for this position:

1. License: US Master 1600GT – Oceans

2. Valid GMDSS radio operator license and radar certificate

3. Current CPR certificate

4. US Citizenship (current US passport required)

Your sea period will last for a period of 2 to 3 months. During this period you will make port on the average of every two to three weeks with ports stays averaging 3-5 days depending on the discharge schedule of the port. Your salary will be $9,000 (US) per month. Dependent on your background and command experience, the salary can be negotiated. In addition there is paid leave.
