Mgr, Quality – APL Logistics – Bethesda MD

Description

This role manages daily operations according to the Safety, Environmental and Quality Management System for the AML Offices located in Oakland CA & Bethesda MD as well as the present fleet of 18 US Flag vessels trading worldwide.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Appointed as the “Designated Person” as required by the ISM Code.
• Appointed as the Company Security Officer.
• Member of the Human Resources Committee (HRC) which is responsible for all Senior Officer assignments.
• Member of the Incident Response Team for any vessel casualties or security incidents.
• Manage the Safety & Loss Control Program.
• Conduct accident or near miss investigations.
• Function as one of the principal internal auditors within the ISO/ISM Program.
• Develop new Safety & Quality Management programs, such as ISO 14000, as necessary.
• Foster a safe working environment both ashore and afloat and  promote safety awareness using existing programs and creating safety awareness initiatives through:
