Job Description
Mechanical Engineer – Moored Training Ship (MTS) Conversion Design

The successfully candidate will be responsible for for development of system design descriptions and will provide input and support for detailed shipyard design efforts.  Responsibilities also include construction follow and development of operating, test and maintenance procedures.

Mechanical, fluid, and heat transfer systems engineering work includes the evaluation, analysis, testing, and development of systems and operating methods.  Responsible for mechanical / fluid systems design and their interface with system mechanical and electrical components.

Selected applicants will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.  U.S. citizenship required.

Job Requirements : B.S. in Mechanical or Marine Engineering from an accredited college.  A minimum of two years experience in mechanical engineering.

Other Skills : Internship/co-op experience in fluid systems, heat transfer design and analysis, systems engineering or systems integration related to power plant design is preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively convey technical information in a clear and concise manner (written as well as verbal). Demonstrated ability to function in a team environment (both in leadership as well as support roles). Demonstrated logical problem solving approach and experiences.
